Georgia is washed by the Black Sea in the west, bordered by Russia in the east and north, Armenia and Turkey in the south, and Azerbaijan in the south-east. The territories of the partially recognized republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia are de facto not controlled by the Georgian government and are regarded by them, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, the United States and European countries as parts of Georgia occupied by Russia.
-
The area of Georgia is 69,700 square kilometers.
-

Georgia is a parliamentary republic. President - Salome Zurabishvili.
-
Citizens of most countries do not need a visa to visit Georgia.
-
There should be no marks in your passport about visits to the territories of Georgia occupied by Russia - the Abkhaz Autonomous Republic and the South Ossetian Autonomous Region. You also have no right to enter the territory of Georgia from these territories and leave Georgia to these territories.

-
The monetary unit of Georgia is Georgian lari. Settlements in foreign currencies are strictly prohibited! ATMs and POS-terminals are not everywhere, so always carry cash lari with you.
-
Currency exchange offices (including round-the-clock) in Tbilisi can be found everywhere. Also, all branches of banks are engaged in currency exchange. The most unfavorable exchange rates are in bank branches. The most profitable - in private exchange offices. Round-the-clock exchange offices work in the arrival hall of Tbilisi International Airport, they are one of the most profitable in the city (counters in the arrival hall, after passing through passport and customs control). However, always check the current exchange rate and choose the most profitable one.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact that in the tourist areas of Tbilisi (in particular, on Kote Apkhazi Street), there are cases of deception of tourists during currency exchange (exchange is carried out at a reduced rate). Always check the exchange rate and ask for confirmation from the cashier of the exchange office! In case of incorrect calculations, call the police by calling 112.
-
Georgia is a safe country. Nevertheless, as in any tourist country, petty thefts and frauds occur. Professional beggars and gypsies around churches, monuments of architecture and in places where tourists gather, can be very annoying and even dangerous. Watch your things carefully! In case of any problems, call the police by calling 112.
-
In the some night clubs of Tbilisi and other cities of Georgia there are cases of rendering services at repeatedly inflated prices (for example, a bottle of ordinary champagne at a price of several thousand US dollars). If you are not able to refuse this type of holiday, always carefully check prices and get to know them before the provision of goods or services.
-
In the center of Tbilisi there is an environmental police. Throw away ANY smallest garbage only in bins and garbage cans. Fines start from 80 GEL (near 30.- US dollars).
-

Carry himself a first aid kit with medications that you usually use. Some guests of Georgia have indigestion due to the reaction to local water and Georgian cuisine, which dishes are often fatty, salty and spicy. We recommend the inclusion of enterosorbents in the kit. Drinking water in Georgia meets European quality standards. Unboiled water can be drunk (in a drinking fountains outside and in a hotel's tap).

If your tour includes a mountain area, please note the following:
• Ultraviolet insolation in the mountains is significantly increased. Be sure to at all times of the year use sunglasses and sunscreen.
• The air temperature at high altitudes may be 10 to 20 degrees lower than in Tbilisi. Even in summer, keep warm clothes with you!
-
In the summer in Tbilisi, the use of sunglasses and sunscreen is a must!
-
All travel schedules on our outbound tours are indicative. Correction of the passage time of individual sections of the tours is possible due to the situation on the roads (traffic restrictions, road accidents, the state of the road surface, weather conditions, natural disasters) or the introduction of agreed changes to the tour program.
If you independently plan activities for a fixed time after the planned end of our tours, please notify us in advance (at least one day) and consult us about the likelihood of delays.
-
The time spent on individual excursion sites as part of our excursion tours is calculated on the basis of the principle of necessary sufficiency, based on our experience. If for some reason your group is not able to hold a standard timing for the route and did not agree on an individual schedule in advance, we will have to shorten the program of the excursion day. Claims to cancel certain elements of the program in this case are not accepted, the total cost of the tour does not change.
